Tanguy's favourite films and series

Breaking Bad

I love to watch films and series. I think that I don’t have one favourite film but I have a favourite series : Breaking Bad.

"Breaking Bad" is a TV series that follows Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who turns to making and selling methamphetamine after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. He partners with former student Jesse Pinkman to secure his family's future financially. As Walter transforms into the ruthless drug kingpin "Heisenberg," he becomes increasingly entangled in the criminal world, leading to dangerous confrontations, moral compromises, and a battle for survival. The show explores themes of morality, power, and the consequences of one's choices.

Films

The Grand Budapest Hotel

This film feels like stepping into a quirky storybook. It follows Gustave H., an eccentric and refined concierge who is devoted to his guests at the Grand Budapest Hotel, and Zero, a young lobby boy who becomes his loyal companion. Together, they embark on a series of comedic yet perilous adventures involving stolen art, family feuds, and even murder. Wes Anderson’s signature style shines through, making it both visually captivating and emotionally touching.

Dune 2

Dune 2 is an epic continuation of Paul Atreides' journey, filled with deeper emotional stakes and grandeur. Paul struggles not only to avenge the fall of his family but also to come to terms with his role as a messianic figure among the Fremen people. This sequel explores the complexities of power, fate, and sacrifice as Paul becomes further entwined with Arrakis, a planet where every grain of sand seems to carry the weight of destiny.

Green Book

Green Book is a heartfelt exploration of an unlikely friendship formed during a journey through the racially segregated American South in the 1960s. The film beautifully captures the dynamic between Dr. Don Shirley, an elegant, cultured musician, and Tony Lip, a blunt but good-hearted bouncer. As they travel together, Tony learns about empathy and injustice, while Don finds someone who can see him beyond stereotypes. It’s a powerful reminder of how meaningful human connections can break down barriers and challenge deep-seated prejudices.

Attack On Titan

I don’t read a lot but I watch Attack On Titan, which I think is my favourite work, and after that I decide to read it. Whether in anime or in manga, it’s for me a must-have to watch. There is plenty of what we call “foreshadowing”, an element that we see earlier in the story and that makes sense in the future, and I love that.
